Downloading and Installing the CBTs

When you contact the NCAS Helpdesk to request access to the CBTs you will be asked for your e-mail address. The OSC will e-mail you the location of the CBTs on the web, an ID and password combination that you will need before you will be able to download them, and the instructions below for downloading and installing the CBTs.

1.	Open the web address in the e-mail.
2.	Choose the CBT that you want to download. Unless you are running Windows 3.1, you will probably want the 32-bit version.
3.	Enter the ID and password that you were previously sent into the fields at the bottom of the page.
4.	Click the Submit Form button.
5.	A dialogue box will appear, asking you to save the file. Your browser may want to name the file login.pl. If so, please change the name to be like filename.exe. For example, ncas_basics.exe or info_access.exe. Also please check to make sure that the File Type drop-down box says either .exe or "All Files", instead of .pl.
6.	Using your Windows Explorer tool, locate the file you just downloaded, and double-click it.
7.	Click the Unzip button, noting the location to which you are unzipping the file. By default it will probably want to unzip to C:\TEMP.
8.	When the file has completed unzipping, locate the Setup.exe file and double-click it. This will begin installing the CBT and instructions for customizing and completing the install will follow.
9.	Repeat these steps for each CBT you download. Please note that if you are downloading multiple CBTs, you may want to unzip each one to a separate folder, or else complete one install before unzipping another CBT. Otherwise, the files from one CBT will overwrite the previously unzipped files.
