Fiscal Year 2002 Close (12/17/2002)

Fiscal Year 2002 was successfully closed last night for the P and NC23 regions and all data related to 2002 has been moved from the Open Years File (GMP11) to the Closed Years File (GMP21). The deletion of inactive accounting distributions that contain zero balances for all periods on file will occur later this week.

Fiscal Year 2002 for the universities will be closed during today’s production cycle.

Fiscal Year 2002 Closing Notice for P and NC23 (12/12/2002)

The system close of fiscal year 2002 for the P and NC23 regions will begin on Thursday evening, December 12. Agencies in these regions may see BC journal voucher transactions posted to their companies with an effective date of 07/01/2002 and YEAR END CLOSING ENTRY in the Description 1 field of the documents. They may also observe balances on their Friday morning reports for account/center 390000-9998. These balances will be eliminated when the final stage of the prior year close is completed on Monday evening, December 16. Any agencies that run custom IE reports that use a "prior year closed or open" variable, will need to update their reports or run statements to reflect the closed status of the previous year after Monday evening’s production cycle is completed.

It is anticipated that fiscal year 2002 will be closed for universities during the Monday and Tuesday afternoon production cycles of next week.

Over the Christmas holidays there will be a longer than normal delay for NCAS Electronic payments. All electronic payments set to pay on Friday, Dec. 20th will not be received by First Union for payment until Monday, Dec. 30. Please plan ahead so that all critical payments can be made one day sooner (Dec 19th). Thank you for your help insuring payments are made in a timely manner.
