Recently, the OSC NCAS Help Desk has received large numbers of security processing requests on Thursdays. Security request forms received after Tuesday by the OSC NCAS Help Desk may not be completed in time for the weekly Thursday night batch processing. As stated in a 1996 SIG memo, NCAS Help Desk Security Processing in most cases, if requests are received by Tuesday, the Help Desk and Technical Applications staff can complete the necessary requirements prior to the Thursday night deadline for batch processing. However, large numbers of requests may require additional time.
In addition, Memorandum # 980011 stated that the OSC would no longer accept faxed copies of the Security Request Form. If an emergency exists, the agency should first call the OSC NCAS Help Desk to request approval to send a faxed copy of the form, sending the original form immediately thereafter using the standard means of delivery. No form should be faxed without first receiving approval from the Help Desk.
