Use of Courier Numbers in Vendor File

Substantial savings can be attained by using interoffice or courier mail whenever possible. Checks sent interoffice mail save $.32 postage per check and those going courier mail throughout the State are sent at 59% of the US Postal rate, for a savings of $.19 per check!!! State business units with courier addresses are set up as additional vendor group records on the vendor file. The address format used is acceptable to the courier service (agency, division, city, courier number). Requests to add courier addresses are handled the same as other vendor requests. Use the pay entity VADD to add the information on the VSA screen. When mailing within State government using the vendor group code for the courier address is a cost wise procedure.
