It is the policy of the State of North Carolina that all employees fulfill certain responsibilities regarding payroll.

Explanation of Policy

State employees have certain responsibilities regarding payroll. These include but are not limited to the following:

  • Promptly informing the employing state entity of any changes of information or documentation necessary to process payroll
  • Submitting accurate and properly authorized time sheets, where appropriate
  • Verifying information printed on the Direct Deposit Statement or payment stub at each pay date
  • Promptly informing the employing state entity of any payroll errors discovered, including any wage overpayments

Scope

This policy applies to all State employees.
