Employee Responsibilities
It is the policy of the State of North Carolina that all employees fulfill certain responsibilities regarding payroll.
G.S. 143B-426.39 Powers and Duties of the State Controller
State employees have certain responsibilities regarding payroll. These include but are not limited to the following:
- Promptly informing the employing state entity of any changes of information or documentation necessary to process payroll
- Submitting accurate and properly
authorized time sheets, where appropriate
- Verifying information printed on
the Direct Deposit Statement or payment stub at each pay date
- Promptly informing the employing state entity of any payroll errors discovered,
including any wage overpayments
This policy applies to all
State employees.
There are no exceptions to this policy.
There are no special terms for this policy.
