Using Method 1 to Create/Attach Documents Step-by-Step

From the Inventory module:
 

1. Type DNE in the NEXT FUNCTION field to access the Document Number Entry (DNE) screen. 
2. Type the document number to be created in the first KEYS field, and press ENTER
    The Document Number Entry (DNE) screen is displayed. The document number appears in the DOCUMENT NUMBER field. 
3. Type the item number for the items to be attached to the document in the first ORIGINATING ORDER field. 
4. Type the order number for the items in the second ORIGINATING ORDER field. 
5. Type the suffix to the order number for the items in the third ORIGINATING ORDER field, and press ENTER
    The Document Detail Entry (DDE) screen is displayed. The document number and originating order numbers appear on the screen. 
6. Type the text for the document number on the text lines on the screen, and press ENTER

A blank Document Detail Entry (DDE) screen is displayed. You can now go to the Change Inventory Status (CISU) screen to attach the document number to the appropriate inventory items. 

7. Type FII in the NEXT FUNCTION field to access the Find Inventory by Item (FII) screen. 
8. Type the item number for the items to be attached to the document in the first KEYS field. 
9. Type the warehouse ID for the items to be attached to the document in the second KEYS field, and press ENTER

The Find Inventory by Item (FII) screen is displayed. Locate the inventory detail record for the items to be attached to the document. 

10. Type X (or any other character) in the field to the left of the inventory detail record for the items to be attached to the document. 
11. Type CISU in the NEXT FUNCTION field and press ENTER to access the Change Inventory Status (CISU) screen. 
    Note: The Move Inventory (MI) screen can also be used to attach a document to items. When the Move Inventory (MI) screen is used, the document can be attached to a portion of the items on an inventory detail record. In contrast, the document must be attached to all of the items on an inventory detail record when the Change Inventory Status (CISU) screen is used. 

    The Change Inventory Status (CISU) screen is displayed.

12. Type the document number you created on the Document Number Entry (DNE) screen in the DOCUMENT NUMBER field. 
13. Leave the ACTION FIELD blank, and press ENTER
