Logging on to the North Carolina Accounting System Step-by-Step

Begin at the State Communications Network screen (the State Sign-On Banner screen). The first field is your node name and is unique to each terminal.

1. Type your region identifier (ex. SCCPCICS) and press ENTER. The CICS screen will appear and your cursor will be on the USERID field.
2. Type your assigned RACF ID in the USERID field.
3. TAB to the BILL-CDE field and type the bill-code assigned to your agency
4. TAB to the PASSWORD field and type your assigned RACF password
5. Press ENTER. A sign-on confirmation message will appear across the top of the screen. The message will then disappear, leaving a blinking cursor at the top of a blank screen.
Passwords are revoked after 45 days if the user does not logon during that time. They are rejected after 90 days if they are not changed. To avoid password rejections and confusion, change the password monthly.
6. Type MSAS at the flashing cursor and press ENTER. The North CarolinaAccounting System screen will appear. Your cursor will be on the OPERATOR ID field.
7. Type your Operator ID number in the OPERATOR ID field. Since this number completely fills the OPERATOR ID field, your cursor will then move to the PASSWORD field.
8. Type your North Carolina Accounting System password in the PASSWORD field.
9. Press ENTER. You are now signed on to the North Carolina Accounting System.
Note: If you get the message Password not on file, press PAUSE, F2, F3, or CLEAR
10. The following options are displayed on the main menu screen:
    A. Payroll/Personnel
    B. Financial Systems
    C. Manufacturing Systems
    D. Health Care
    E. Information Expert
11. To select the Accounts Payable and Purchasing Systems, type B and press ENTER. If the number of the financial system is known (ie. 14-Purchasing, 06-Accounts Payable, as shown on the financial system menu), it can be entered instead of the letter to go directly to the desired system.
12. On the Financial Systems menu screen, type the number of the module needed.
