Clearing the Audit File Step-by-Step
 
1. Click Reports on the CheckGard toolbar.

Note: The Choose Report Format dialog box will appear.

2. Ensure that the:
  • Current Report Format is c:\chkgard\chkgard.cgr
  • The box beside ‘Keep as Default’ is marked with an X.
3. Click OK.

Note: The AUDIT.SEC file will be displayed.

4. Click File on the menu bar.
5. Click Print.

Note: The Print dialog box will appear.

6. Click Setup.
7. Make sure that the HP LaserJet Series II on LPT1 printer is selected. (If not, then click on it.)
8. Ensure that the print setup dialog box is set up as follows:
  • Orientation is Landscape
  • Paper Size is Letter 8 1/2 x 11 in.
  • Paper Source is Upper Tray
9. Click OK.
10. Ensure that the Print Range is set to All.
11. Click OK in the Print dialog box.

Note: The following document will print:

  • The CheckGard Audit File report (lists the date, time, user, action performed, as well as the check numbers, payees, and amounts).
12. Click Security on the CheckGard toolbar.
13. Click Clear Audit File.

Note: A dialog box will appear.

14. If you want to clear all audit file entries, ensure that: 
  • The word Beginning is in the Start Date field. 
  • The word End is in the End Date field. 
Otherwise, type the range of dates of the audit file entries that you want to clear.
15. Click OK.

Note: A CheckGard dialog box will appear, asking if you are sure you want to clear.

16. Click OK.

Note: The audit file will clear.

17. Click File on the CheckGard menu bar.
18. Click Exit.

Note: CheckGard will close.

19. Click File on the Program Manager menu bar.
20. Click on Exit Windows.
21. Click OK to exit Windows.
22. Turn off the printer, monitor and PC power switches.
