MEMORANDUM NO. SAD 03-23

 The Office of the State Controller will conduct its annual Fiscal Officer Update Seminar for the chief fiscal officers and designated representatives on December 17, 2002 at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh. The registration fee for this course will be $45 per attendee, which includes all course materials, break service, and lunch. Due to classroom size, the course will be limited to 200 participants.

This eight-hour seminar will provide an update of current central management issues affecting the State's financial community. Specific topics will include OSC strategic initiatives; updates on central compliance, central payroll, and financial reporting activities; current IRS tax compliance and reporting issues; agency accounting issues; financial systems division issues; and an economic and budget update. In addition, an afternoon session will discuss technology trends of the future.

Enclosed you will find a course registration form. Please complete and return the registration form along with the required fee of $45 to the Office of the State Controller (Attn.: John Morgan) no later than December 3, 2002. Your registration will be confirmed by email on or before December 13, 2002. We will also post this course announcement on our home page under "News" at http://www.osc.state.nc.us.
