6/30/99 Based on input from several agencies, OSC is implementing a change in the Health Benefits Interface that will simplify the reconciliation process for the Health Benefits clearing account. Effective July 1, 1999, the clearing account posted to the General Ledger from the Health Benefits Interface will include Central Payroll’s three-digit code that identifies each insurance carrier providing medical insurance services in the seventh through ninth positions of the clearing account. Details on this processing change are available in MEMORANDUM No. NCAS-99-0021, Health Benefits Interface Change.
6/22/99 The June monthly payroll is now scheduled to post during the 06/24/99 nightly production run instead of the previously reported date of 06/28/99. This change was made in response to several requests from agency personnel and will provide agencies more time to prepare federal reimbursement requests and complete cost allocation calculations. If there are processing problems with the Payroll Interface on the evening of 06/24, its posting will be postponed until 06/25 and a message about the problems will be presented in the System Status section of the OSC homepage on the morning of the 25th.
6/11/99 A memo concerning State Government Acceptance of Credit Card Payments has been added to the SIG Current Memos
4/29/99 The 1998 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report has been reissued with an unqualified (clean) opinion from the State Auditor. More information about the technical reasons for this reissuance can be found at http://www.rutgers.edu/Accounting/raw/gasb/news/index.html.

1/29/99 Having completed a successful pilot program at DENR and DHHS agencies, we are pleased to make the "Fax PO" option of transmitting NCAS Purchase Orders available statewide.  This feature gives buyers the option of transmitting a PO to the vendor via fax as soon as the PO is complete, without ever producing a printed copy.  The addition of this feature provides agencies increased ability to respond to high priority requirements without creating a "firedrill" atmosphere.  Best of all, it is simple to use.  Refer to the NCAS SIG for additional information.
07/7/98 New Tax Rate (4%) information available.
